Debonair Bites at db Bistro Moderne

db Bistro Moderne: "I really can't stay..."
Tonight we had tickets to see "No Man's Land" over at the Cort Theatre so I hunted for nearby restaurants and was excited to find that it is close to db Bistro Moderne which has been on my radar for a long time. Not only is their burger often seen on "Best Burgers in NYC" lists, but I've been eager to try any/all of Daniel Boulud's restaurants. The Mr. got stuck in some traffic, so I ordered the "I Really Can't Stay..." cocktail while I waited. Although I really dislike "Baby It's Cold Outside", I really like Rum, Lime, Walnut Infused Sherry, Maple and Egg mixed together and served in my favorite cocktail glass!

The Mr. arrived and ordered himself his go-to Old Fashioned and some delightful little amuse-bouche arrived at our table.

We of course ordered The Original DB Burger as well as an order of the Onglet a L'Echalotte (Hanger Steak) to share. For those of you unfamiliar, the reason that this burger stands out is because it is filled with Braised Short Ribs and Foie Gras and served on a Black Truffle Parmesan Bun.

I absolutely swooned for this burger. However, The Mr. pointed out that it had a strong horseradish flavor that overwhelmed all the other subtler tastes. He was right of course, but it was still really delicious. Thusly, I left db Bistro Moderne and ready to come back ANYtime for another pre-theatre meal, but The Mr was slightly less enamored.
