Update: TBSP

BLTA
We haven't been to our old brunch favorite TBSP much since moving further away to the West Side. We had some out-of-town guests staying with us this weekend who requested a simple, classic NYC brunch spot and it seemed like the perfect place. Right away, we noticed a bunch of small changes such as the addition of water and snacks in the foyer to enjoy while you wait.

After a very short wait , the hostess came by to seat us. Unfortunately, someone who was supposed to meet us turned out to be a no-show. Well, she was NOT happy about this and made sure that we knew it. Admittedly, we should have communicated this earlier, but there was a lot of confusion amongst our group. We weren't using any extra tables, so we were very surprised that she continued to glare at us every time she stalked past as we ate our meal.

Abashed, yet starving, we put in our order. The Mr. ordered the BLTA with Fries (above) and I decided to try their Baked Eggs in a Skillet (below).

As we were eating, we quickly became aware of another one of the changes that had been made since our last visit- more tables. It didn't seem too cramped, but had the very negative affect of making it very noisy. It was difficult to hear our dining companions.

The food was still quite tasty, but some of the charm seemed to be missing from our old haunt. I still recommend TBSP, but we will definitely stick with the brunch places we've discovered closer to our newer location.
