Ra! Ra! for Ivan Ramen Slurp Shop

Ivan Ramen Slurp Shop: Shio Ramen 

I was pretty excited about the opening of Gotham West Market, since well, 11th Ave is pretty much no-man's land at the moment. But then we got pretty darn excited when we learned that it would be home to Ivan Ramen Slurp Shop. We'd seen Ivan Orkin on "Mind of a Chef" and couldn't believe that we'd have an outpost within a mile of our apartment.

So the first free evening we had, we made the pilgrimage to check out this new little foodie mecca in the West. We got a bowl of the Classic Shio Ramen & Classic Shoyu Ramen (both with Egg & Chili Garlic Add Ons of course) and split them. 

All of our favorite ramens so far have been of the lighter variety, so we both went in prepared to not like the Shoyu as much. However, this was simply not the case and we loved each and every slurp of both equally.

So yeah, it pretty much lived up to and blew past all of our expectations. Amazing! But then again, when has Chef Chang ever let us down? As a bonus, Ivan Orkin was there in the flesh and signed our copy of his new book! Now the only problem is resisting the urge to eat these bowls of fatty, salty goodness every single night...
