St. Andrews a Nice Catch

St. Andrews
After picking up some last minute tickets for The Realistic Joneses at the TKTS booth we needed a nearby spot to grab dinner. A quick search of the nearby vicinity pulled up St. Andrews Scottish Restaurant & Bar. Since we've recently returned from a trip to Scotland, we've been scouting out all the Scottish culture (& Scotch) that we can get our hands on in NYC.

The downstairs is a traditional pub style, but upstairs is a rather nice dining room with white linens and a more sophisticated menu. However, you can also order off the Grill menu up here which was a huge relief since their Scotch Egg is featured only on the grill menu. However, sadly for us, they were out of the Scotch Egg tonight.

St. Andrews: Mini Burgers
St. Andrews: Roasted Duck Breast
St. Andrews: Cornmeal Crusted Fried Oysters

We consoled ourselves with an order of Mini Burgers, Corneal Crusted Fried Oysters, Buffalo Crispy Calamari, and Roasted Duck Breast. Way too much food to be sure - especially considering the Calamari was served in a boat. We washed all of this down with a dram of Scapa 10yr and Jura Prophesy and then whisked away off to our show.

This was a nice solid find especially considering its proximity to Times Square and a great pre-theatre option.
