I work near Chelsea Market and wind up going to grab lunch there at least several times a week, but I never realized that Sarabeth's has a lunch menu. One day, my coworkers popped in through a little door that I had never really paid attention to, so I decided to follow. Everyone in there seemed to know about the secret menu and were mysteriously placing orders for sandwiches and the like. I asked the cashier for a menu, and voila, the secret was unlocked.

The Tacombi cart showed up in Chelsea Market a few months ago, but I hadn't had a chance to check it out yet. So when The Mr. and I were hunting around the neighborhood for an afternoon snack it seemed like as good a time as any to see if they pass our Texas Taco Test.

Milkin' It at Ronnybrook Milk Bar

Avocado & Fresh Mozzarella

One of our favorite lunch spots in Chelsea Market is the Ronnybrook Milk Bar. If you fancy a sandwich with some absolutely fresh mozzarella, this is your stop. Our pick is the Avocado & Fresh Mozzarella sandwich with spicy aioli, tomato, and basil on a pumpernickel hoagie. This sandwich is light and fresh yet extremely satisfying. While you are there be sure to pick up a small ice cream or one of those blueberry cream cheese pastries to satisfy your sweet tooth.

And if you want to keep enjoying the farm fresh dairy later, they also sell their milk, mozzarella and yogurt to take home.

I've been trying to cover more of Chelsea Market since I take for granted the fact that I get to eat here all the time. I've heard Lucy's Whey has some mean grilled cheese, so when I was in the mood for some gooey, meltedy goodness, I decided to finally stop by.

The Mr and I decided to have a lazy Sunday and grab a late lunch at Chelsea Market. We go here several times a week for lunch, but are usually rushed and just go for one of our 'usual' spots. Today we decided to stroll through and enjoy a couple of places that we don't usually frequent.

First, we stopped in at Amy's Bread and picked up a mini baguette with fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil. Such a perfect, light summer lunch. Would be perfect for a picnic, but we chose to eat it right there on the spot while we people watched the other Chelsea Market visitors.

The Loot

Today I did something I rarely do, I actually did a little shopping at Chelsea Market. Usually I'm in and out as I grab my lunch, but today I decided to take a few minutes to stop and smell the vinegars as it were. My first stop was, as you may have guessed, to The Filling Station. After tasting my way around for a bit I settled on a bottle of Fig Balsamic and a bottle of Coconut Balsamic. I also picked up a small bottle of their regular Balsamic for my desk at work.

Ok, so everyone knows that The Lobster Place has a killa lobster roll, but not everyone knows that they kill it at other sandwiches, soups, salads, and sushi. If it's a food group that involves seafood and starts with the letter 'S', Lobster Place is all over it. (Do me a favor and don't think about this too long, as I'm sure you can find a contradiction.)

Tuck In to Tuck Shop

Mmmm...Meat Pies

Our Australian coworker heralded the opening of Tuck Shop in Chelsea Market and it sounded so delicious that we wasted no time in going to try them out. We got the Traditional and then two of the daily special selections. De-lic-ious. We took them back to the office for dinner since we were working late and were immediately set upon by everyone left at the office. Like the miracle of the loaves and fishes, these three were diced up and sampled by at least six of us. It was unanimous- these meaty, greasy little treats put a smile on everyone's face.
